Institute for Global Studies (IGS) : [21]

Collection home page

IGS was originally formed during 1997 when it was called 'The Research Unit for Global Studies' (RUGS). IGS is committed to research and related activities of a multi and inter-disciplinary nature, paying particular attention to the relations with Europe of the Americas and Russia and the importance of development and women's issues in the rest of the world for Europe. IGS brings together those who wish to further knowledge concerning the growing transnational relations, exchanges, identities and interests emerging at the global level; and/or the political, social or economic changes taking place in specific regions of the world outside Europe. IGS helped to establish the Global Studies Association which has grown rapidly since it was founded in 2000.
