CELC comprises of the European Cinema Group, Crime Fictions Research Centre and European Literatures Group. Particular research areas include: linguistics; economies and politics of Portugal and Spain; immigration; crime and detective fiction; women's writing; Hispanic, French, Italian and German popular culture, cinema and theatre, as well as contemporary literature; autobiography and literary translation studies.
