Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics32

The Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics is one of the largest in the UK, with over 60 members of staff. The diversity of the academic staff base allows the delivery of our programmes from an encompassing viewpoint. In this changing world, simple mastery of a fixed curriculum will not prepare graduates for the unknowns of their career: for example, issues of economic, social and ecological sustainability. Therefore, programme learning outcomes emphasise flexibility, imagination and the ability to think critically - as well as equipping graduates with an appropriate set of employable skills. Ultimately, we require our graduates to have the confidence and ability to overcome any problem they face - not just those problems discussed in the text book.
